Platinum will now automatically bring up the Login box after a period of inactivity. Just log back in to continue with your work.

Details

As a security feature, when Platinum is left idle for a period of time it will automatically bring up the Login box. If you are in a sensitive area of the system (say, sorting out the payroll) and unexpectedly have to leave your terminal then this offers a layer of security stopping unauthorised personnel from seeing what you were doing, or even worse, taking over your terminal and making their own changes which will be recorded with your details!

If you have the Unit Sales module and have your vehicles on Catalyst FindIt then there will also be a "Virtual Showroom" rolling display of your vehicles shown. Just press <Esc> or close the window to uncover the Login box so that you can log back in and continue with your work. See Can I display my vehicles on a large screen in my showroom? for more information.

Configuration

The amount of time of inactivity that Platinum waits before showing the Login box can be configured:

  • Go to "Reports & Parameters" => "Maintenance Options" => "System Administrator" => "System Parameters".
  • Go to page 2.
  • In "Show Login After Inactivity" enter the number of minutes required.
  • You may also enter '0' to disable this feature.
