What do the tick boxes do on unit lookups?
Contents
Summary
The following article explains the results and consequences of selecting each of the tick boxes when carrying out an HPI Vehicle Look-up.
More Information
Performing a Lookup without ticking any boxes incurs a standard fee per lookup.
Each additional box ticked will incur additional charges. |
Include a Vehicle Data Check
This option performs the basic Look-up for vehicle details and also performs a Full Vehicle Data Check. This will retrieve and report any additional vehicle details for any record of outstanding finance, the vehicle being involved in an accident (i.e. written off), or being stolen etc. Requesting this will involve your normal charges from HPI for a Data Check.
CRiS lookup
This option is for data checking chassis numbers on caravans. As standard this option is disabled. Your HPI account should have the CRiS Check option included and it must be configured and enabled by Catalyst software support.
Include a Mileage Check
This option adds a section to your Vehicle Look-up results with a heading of "Mileage Check". This compares the current reported mileage of the vehicle with any previous mileage records (e.g. from M.O.T. tests, etc.) and check for any inconsistencies (e.g. one mileage record being supposedly lower than a previous one).
The option will return a result even if there is no discrepancy. |
Viewing Results
The results of each check are stored against the vehicle. See this article for instructions.
A formal HPI certificate can only be produced by logging in to the HPI portal with your user credentials. You must then carry out the Vehicle Data Check through their site. A formal certificate cannot be produced using the HPI lookup link from Platinum. |
