How do I find unit sales order PDI/preparation jobs?

Summary
This article describes how to find workshop jobs created automatically by the sales department when they create a sales order for a bike. The sales department are allowed to create the workshop job for the PDI or preparation of a machine they have sold, but they cannot schedule it into the diary.

Units: Unit is a general term used to cover all types of vehicle and machinery, including items such as motorcycles, scooters, cars, trucks, vans, caravans, motorhomes, boats, tractors, ATVs, agricultural equipment, wholegoods and construction equipment. |
The scheduling must be carried out by the workshop manager, and this process should be carried out at least once a day to ensure that all sales jobs are dealt with promptly and efficiently, and any problems are made known to sales as soon as possible.
Go to " Workshop Workshop Diary".
- You will either click a button at the top of your screen for 'Sales Jobs' or follow the search option below:
- Press <Ctrl+F1> to search for a job.
- Move to the "Status" field.
- As a standard the "Status" code is set to 'SAL' for Unit Sales Order Jobs. This might be different on your system. If so, search on the "Status" by pressing <Ctrl+F1> and type in 'Sales'.
Results
This will list down all the jobs at present in the workshop diary that have been generated via the Unit Sales Ordering system. Go down the list, to the relevant record and click on [Choose]. This will then load up the Workshop Job. Note the "Due Date" of the job, which should display the date that the machine is required to be ready. Click on the "Schedule" button at the top of the screen, decide on how long you will need to do the job and choose the appropriate date to book the job. Press <Esc> to exit and accept.
