How do I Set an Alert Message for Stock Items?

This article will explain how to set up an alert that will pop up when you sell a stock code.

The alert can be set against an individual stock code or a whole stock group. If an alert is set against a stock group and also the stock code both alerts will show when the item is added to one of the sales screens in Platinum.
This article is split into two sections, one dealing with how to set the alert against a stock code and the other deals with the stock group.
Stock Codes
- Go to " Stock Control Add or Edit Stock Items".
- Search for the stock code you want to create an Alert for.
- [Edit] the stock code that you want the alert to pop up for and choose the [Alert] tab.
- Type in the message that you want to appear for this stock code and then choose [Done] and [Accept].
 | If you already have the stock code on screen in another part of Platinum then you can do this quickly by using the <Shift+F10> to edit the item from where you are. |
Stock Groups
- Go to " Stock Control Maintenance Options Price, Group & Depot Codes Add or Edit Stock Groups".
- Search for the group you want the Alert to appear for.
- [Edit] the stock group and choose the [Alert text] tab.
- Type in the message that you want to appear for this stock group and the choose [Done] and [Accept].
