Summary

Periodically, BMW will send you an updated Parts File. The procedure for importing this into Platinum is outlined below.

More Information

Downloading the File from the BMW Intranet

  • Download the 'DTT58.STK.ZIP' or 'DTTF58.STK.Z' by clicking the 'Download BMW Price File' icon in the 'Platinum folder' Icon on your desktop. This downloads a compressed file which needs to be uncompressed.
Once this is downloaded it will be opened by your default Program for opening '.zip' files. Extract the file using the instructions below.
If you need help downloading the file from the BMW Intranet, please call your BMW support representative for assistance.

Unzipping the Parts File

  • The downloaded file called 'dttf58.stk.z' will need uncompressing by using a suitable program such as Winzip or Winrar.
  • Once uncompressed, copy the 'dttf58.stk (2)' file to the 'SXCo1' folder within the Platinum directory structure.
It is assumed here that 'SXCo1' is the folder of your LIVE company. If you are unsure which is your live company, Contact your Platinum dealer or our support team on 0116 230 1500 or by using our website support contact page.
'dttf58.stk (2)' file will then need to be renamed to 'dttf58.stk' file to work with the data import in the next stage.

Running the import

  • To run the import, go to the " BMW Admin Menu BMW Parts\prices" option.
  • This runs a process to prepare the price file 'DTTF58.INP' ready to import and then imports the information to update your prices.

Checking the Prices

The final stage is to check the prices are correct but first you will need to run a " Re-Sync Stock and Shadow" option to make the prices in your parts file the same as the ones in the shadow files that are now updated.

  • To do this, go to " Stock Control Maintenance options Shadow File Maintenance Re-Sync Stock & Shadow".
  • This step will take a while but can be left running in the background while doing other things. Once finished you can check your BMW parts in your stock files for price changes.
