How do I Create a New Stock Depot?

This article explains how to create a new stock depot. If you have two or more sites or areas where you store parts, accessories or clothing stock, then you may well need more than one Depot on the system.

- Click the [Add] Button.
- In the "Depot" field, type (in capital letters) a code for the new depot, e.g. STOCK1.
- In the "Depot Name" field, type the name for the new depot e.g. Warehouse.
- The "Batched?" drop down box defaults to 'Yes' as it allows you to operate "Batched" stock lines that log a batch number whenever a batched stock line is moved at this depot should you ever require it. For example, if you are ISO9002 registered or considering doing so, or looking at an equivalent quality standard for your business, this will allow full traceability of items from goods in to dispatch.
If you are sure that you will never wish to use batched stock then you can set this to 'No'. However leaving this to 'Yes' allows for flexibility at this stock depot.
