The following article explains how to make an employee a company director in Payroll.

Go to " Payroll Maintenance Options Add or Edit Employees".
- In the "Employee:" enter the employee code you need to amend, or press <Ctrl+F1> to search for it.
- On the [Tax, NI and Pension] tab change the the "Company Director" from 'No' to 'Yes'
- In the "Date Appointed:" field, enter the date on which the employee was appointed a director.
- Press <Esc> and click [Accept] to save the details.
Note: The effect of changing this flag will be to change the way that both Employees and Employers National Insurance is calculated for this employee. Instead of being calculated on the current period gross pay, it is calculated on an annual basis in a similar fashion to Income Tax. |
