How can I hide obsolete stock lines from the stock search?

The following article outlines how to prevent stock items appearing in your search results.

  • Go to " Stock Control Add or Edit Stock Items" and search for the item you wish to hide from your search results.
  • Click [Edit] or press <F5> to edit the item.
  • Click the "Groups/Analysis" tab and select the "Status" field.
  • Press <Ctrl+F1> to open the Stock Status Search screen.
    • If you already use a status to indicate historic items, then search for this and click [Edit].
    • If not click [Add] or press <F6> to create a new status. In the "Stock Status" field, enter up to three characters as a 'Status Code' and then enter a 'Description'.
  • On the "Settings" tab, change the "Historic" from 'No' to 'Yes'.
  • Click [Done] and [Accept].
  • Click [Done] and [Accept] to save the changes to the stock item.
  • You will now need to add this status to each of the items you wish to hide from your stock search.

When you are in an invoicing program, such as " Point of Sale" or a " Workshop Job", when you search for an item the system will hide any items that have this status applied to them and have zero in stock.

If the item still has a stock level then it will continue to appear in your search results until all the stock has been sold.
