Summary

From within the Sales Prospecting Menu, there is an option to send various Mailshots to customers. eg, Thank you for your interest in... etc. These Letters can be edited from the default installed. The following explains how to do this.

Detailed

Go to "Sales Prospecting" -> "Prospect Mailshots" and tap <Enter> to view the current list of installed Mailshots.

If you don't have any Mailshots, please contact Catalyst Support for further assistance.

Editing a Mailshot

  • Select any of the listed Mailshots and press <Edit>
  • On the window that pops up, click <Edit the Letter>
  • This should open up Notepad and display a series of code and text. If you scroll down the page, towards the centre of the document, you will see the body of the text. (The letter contents)
  • Any of the text to the right of the "}" symbol can be edited; eg:
    • ^{M 9,129}Thank you for visiting our showroom
  • can be changed to:
    • ^{M 9,129}Thank you for attending our open evening
  • Please note, any string that begins with an "$" MUST be kept in as this is a token used by Platinum and is pulling various information from file to print on each individual letter, for example, the customers name or vehicle make etc.
  • When you have finished editing the letter, click <File>-><Save> and then click <File>-><Exit>
  • Now click <Accept> and then click <Finish Editing>

You are now ready to run your amended Mailshot by pressing <Start> and then following the on-screen prompts.
