Summary
This article explains what a 'File error 00/99' is and what you can do to help resolve it.
More Information
A 'File error 00/99' occurs within Platinum when your machine has lost access to the host machine of Platinum or you could not see a specific file at the time.
Platinum is shared via a network drive, usually we use 'P:\\Server\Public'
Potential Causes
- Wifi Connection.
- Platinum is hosted on a server machine and client machines are having to access the data through a wifi connection. If the connection is intermittent you will get this error, as it could not take the file at the time of the request.
- Wired Connection
- The network cable from the client PC to the server or access point could be damaged or loose leading towards the connection being dropped.
- Windows Firewall
- There have been incidents where the Windows firewall has stopped the communication between the client machine and the Platinum server, please read the following article for disabling your Windows firewall. Generally the Windows Firewall should be disabled as there should be a more appropriate hardware firewall protecting the system. How can I Stop my Mapped Drive from Being Inaccessible?
