Do I have to remember all these Stock Codes?
Summary
No, we provide a serious search system that lets you find the code from as little as a parts of one word of the description.
More Information
Each stock line in Platinum has an unique 15 character code which is entered when you want use details from that stock line.
We realise that remembering codes is not an easy thing so we have developed our 'aggression' technology that will search the stock items for the details you type.
- The stock code can always be entered if known.
- If you type the code in using the wrong case. e.g. 'gasket001' instead of 'GASKET001' Platinum will use 'GASKET001'.
- Platinum will replace any 'l's with '1's and 'O's with '0's to try and work out a mis-type.
- Various manufacturer files use separators in their codes. You can include or exclude these separators and Platinum will work out what you want.
- A Search On word containing part of the description.
When in Platinum anywhere you can get to a stock code field you can get to a search. This is done by either clicking the "Magnifying Glass" button on the Platinum screen (next to [Exit], [Proceed] etc) or by pressing <Ctrl+F1>.
A search box will appear with a "Search on:" field. This is where you enter the name you which to search for e.g. 'Gasket' for "Head Gasket". This will bring up a list of all the stock that includes the word "Gasket".
If you need to search for something other than the description, for example the short description this can be entered in the "Filter:" box. This searches a wider range of fields. Please note due to this these searches can take a little longer. |
