How do I create a sales or purchase centre?

Summary
This article explains how to set up Sales and Purchase Centres within Platinum. For the purposes of this document, Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger are interchangeable.

Go into " Sales Ledger Maintenance Options Centre Maintenance Add or Edit Centres".
- At "Sales Centre :", enter the new code you wish to create.
- At "Description :", enter a suitable description for the Sales Centre.
- At "Revenue Type :", enter a shorthand description of this code and press <Enter>. This will be used for creating new nominal codes automatically that are related to this sales centre.
- At "Allocate to Nominal Centre :", type the Nominal Code to which you wish to link.
Tip: If you do not have a nominal centre created already you can enter the number and press <Shift+F10> to create one for more Help on this see How do I Create a Nominal Code?. |
- This short section applies only to the Sales Ledger. At "Cost of Sales Centre :", enter the Nominal Code for the cost of sales relating to these sales. Once again, if the Cost of Sales Centre doesn't exist, see How do I Create a Nominal Code?.
