Summary

If you are using the Platinum Web Daemon module as part of our E-Commerce solution, the Platinum system needs access to our FindIt servers 24/7. As part of our commitment to ensure your E-Commerce system is running smoothly our servers attempt to contact your Platinum system every 15 minutes. If the server is unable to make contact it will send an Email to a designated Email address at your company.

Below are some items to check if you should receive this Email.

More Information

Check Network Connection

The first thing to check is that the PC which is running the Web Daemon is able to access the PC running the Browser Daemon which is usually the Platinum server. If the Browser Daemon is running on the Platinum server the easiest way to do this is to open My Computer and then open the 'Public' drive, usually 'P:\'.

If you are able to open the 'Public' drive in a normal manner the next thing to check is that this computer has internet access. Simply open your web browser and attempt to open any external website.

Check Browser Daemon

The Browser Daemon needs to be running all the time for the Web Daemon to operate correctly, this is usually configured to run on the Platinum server. On this PC there should be a Platinum window open with a status window with the following message :

"Please Wait... Awaiting requests..."

"Status: Listening"

If you cannot see this window load up a new copy of Platinum and choose [Browser Daemon] from the main menu and you should now see the above status window.

Check Web Daemon

If the Browser Daemon is running and the Web Daemon PC is able to contact this machine the next thing to check is that the Web Daemon is running correctly. On the Web Daemon PC click on " Start Control Panel Administrative Tools Services". In the list of services there should be Catalyst Browser Daemon Server with a status of 'Started'. If the status column is blank right click on the service and choose 'Start'.
