What are Retail Promotion Groups?
Groups are a way of separating items or lists of items from each other so you can apply different discounts to items in each group. If a discount is to be applied to a particular item but another item needs to be bought for the discount to available or the promotion requires you to pick one or more items from more than one category, you use groups to separate them. Many promotions will have only one group. All the criteria for all groups must be fulfilled for a promotion to be applied.
Retail Promotions in Point Of Sale
In Point Of Sale, if you have at least one Retail Promotion set up, you will be presented with a new prompt "Savings". This shows the total amount that has been saved using Retail Promotions. The "Savings" and "Total" are updated dynamically as you add, remove and edit items. You can press <F8> to see a list of the Retail Promotions used and the amount they have saved the customer in this sale.
Retail Promotions in Invoicing and Customer Orders
In Invoicing and Customer Orders, the Retail Promotions discounts are calculated at the point of producing the invoice. Promotional Discounts will only be applied to items added today.
