Summary
This article explains how to deal with locked records in Platinum. Depending on whether the user was in a critical process at the time you should follow one of the below articles for advice.
You may view logged in users from the " Reports & Settings User Monitor Screen". You will not be able to delete active users from this screen but it can be useful to identify users who have remained logged in for a period of days or have more than one Platinum session open that they should close at the end of the day.
It is normal to see at least one or two entries for a user called Daemon. This is a service that runs as part of Platinum. See What are Browser Daemon control entries on my user monitor?.
More Information
- If you are unable to access a record due to a Record in Use message see Dealing with "Record in Use" message.
- If a user has been forced out of the system e.g. due to an error message or PC issue they may leave a critical user which should be handled carefully. See How do I clear Highlighted Locked Users?.
- If you find users are not logging out of the system at the end of the day please Contact your Platinum dealer or our support team on 0116 230 1500 or by using our website support contact page. It is possible to add a command which forcibly removes users to allow the backup to run at a scheduled time.
You should encourage all users to exit the system correctly at the end of a working day to ensure files are closed correctly and all data saved prior to the backup being run. |
- If you use the Logistics Management system you may also need to clear locked tickets. See How do I Unlock My Logistics Jobs?.
