Summary
The following article explains how to set your Government Gateway ID and Password so that you can submit your V.A.T. returns and Payroll information online.

More Information
Go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options System Administrator Platinum Settings" and search for 'Government'.
- Select "User ID" and click [Edit].
- Enter your supplied User ID then click [OK].
- Select "Password" and click [Edit].
| Your "Password" should be between 8 and 12 characters. If it is shorter or longer, you may find that any online pre-MTD VAT submissions will fail with invalid credentials. |
- Enter your supplied Gateway Password and repeat it in the "Confirm" box.
- Click [OK].
- Click [Done] and [Accept] to save the changes you have made.
If you want to file V.A.T. Returns online directly from Platinum, you will need to enter your V.A.T. Registration Number.
Go to " Reports & Settings Maintenance Options System Administrator Platinum Settings" and search for 'Registration'.
- Select "V.A.T. registration number" and click [Edit].
- Enter your V.A.T. Registration Number then click [OK].
- Enter your V.A.T. number.
- Click [Done] and [Accept] to save the changes you have made.
