Summary
There will be occasions when you log into the system and the following warning will pop up reading something like this:
Tuesday, 20th May 2008 is outside the permitted limits detailed below. Your security clearance does allow you to continue. Your permitted period is Saturday 1st September 2007 to Friday, 30th November 2007. Do you want to use the date you entered? YES NO
This is to warn you that you have entered a date that is outside pre-defined limits from your financial period. Some users find this a useful way of warning them when they have entered the wrong date. If you wish to disable it, follow the steps below. This should not be done without clearance from a manager or system administrator.
Note: If the message says "Your security clearance does not allow you to continue." you will need to speak to someone who has administration privileges to remove the warning for you. |
Go to "Reports and Parameters" -> "Maintenance options" -> "System Administrator" -> "System Parameters".
- Goto to page 11 "Accountancy Period Validation".
You will see a screen that looks like this:
Security Backward Forward Continue Level Period Period Allowed? 0 7 Days 14 Days Yes 1 7 Days 14 Days No 2 7 Days 14 Days No 3 7 Days 14 Days No 4 7 Days 14 Days No 5 1 Month 2 Months Yes 6 1 Month 2 Months Yes 7 1 Month 2 Months Yes 8 1 Month 2 Months Yes 9 1 Month 2 Months Yes
Change the "Backward period", "Forward period" and "Continue allowed?" columns to read like this:
Security Backward Forward Continue Level Period Period Allowed? 0 1 Month 99 Months Yes 1 1 Month 99 Months Yes 2 1 Month 99 Months Yes 3 1 Month 99 Months Yes 4 1 Month 99 Months Yes 5 1 Month 99 Months Yes 6 1 Month 99 Months Yes 7 1 Month 99 Months Yes 8 1 Month 99 Months Yes 9 1 Month 99 Months Yes
