Summary
This article will explain how to schedule Platinum to run at a specified time, whether it is for creating report outputs or to run data imports.
More Information
- Follow this article on how to create your macro that will perform your required scheduled routine. In order for you to be able to schedule a macro it must be assigned to a user and have an auto execution code attached.
- With the macro recorded, go to " My Computer <Platinum Data Drive> SX SXUtils SXSetup.exe".
- When you open the 'Platinum Setup Wizard', it will ask if you wish to update Platinum to the latest release, click [No].
- Click 'Schedule a Platinum macro' and click [Next].
- Select which company you wish to schedule the macro for, this will usually be '1: <Company Name>' and click [Next].
- Select the macro from the "Macro to Schedule" drop down list.
- Enter the time you wish to schedule the macro for in "At what time of day:".
- Select those days of the week on which the macro should be run.
- Enter the Windows username and password for the user which will be running the macro.
- Click [Next].
- The Platinum installation wizard will now schedule the macro to run at the specified time on the required days.
- Click [Close].
This creates a normal Windows scheduled task automatically. Should you need to change any of the settings, you must go to " Windows Control Panel Scheduled Tasks" and edit the settings here. |
