More Information
Betterment can be applied to Insurance of Warranty jobs in the workshop, the term is used when a customer wants a better part than the one being replaced. In this case the customer normally has to pay the difference between the standard part and the one being fitted.
To see how to set up an Insurance workshop job please follow How do I Create an Insurance Workshop Job?.
When you add a stock code to the workshop job you will see the betterment field bellow the V.A.T rate. You can now enter the value of the betterment, the value will be the difference between the 'Nett' sales value of the original item and the 'Nett' sales value of the upgraded part.
This will then apply the betterment figure to the amount the customer owes for the job.
