Summary
Sometimes it may be necessary to change a system Report Generator report. You may want to add or report information from the report.
![]() | You cannot edit a system report as any changes that you make will be overwritten when you next run a Platinum Program update. You can export a system report and import it as a user report and then use that as a template for your new user report.

As only user reports can be copied, this article explains how to export and import the system report as a user report which avoids the report being over written.
More Information
- Go to the Report Generator that the system report is installed.
- Click [Advanced].
- Change the "Report Type" from 'User' to 'System'.
- Click [Search].
- Highlight the report and press <F8> "Export".
- Click [OK] defaulting to '.REPORT.??' (The ?? will change depending on the module your report is in. (e.g. '.ST' for Stock, '.OP' for Order Processing etc).
- The system report is now saved in the 'REPORT.??' file and we need to import it back as a user report.
- Click [Advanced].
- Change the "Report Type" from 'System' to 'User'.
- Press <Shift+F8> "Import".
- Click [Enter] Defaulting to "REPORT.??".
- You now have a copy of the system report.
- Press <F5> to edit the report and make the changes required.
Using the Report
