Summary

The following article explains how to apply a Stock Group to a Stock Code and set up its parameters accordingly.

Additional Information

Select "Stock Control" -> "Add or Edit Stock Items".

  • This will take you to a search screen. Type either the stock code of the item required (e.g. 'NGK1234') or the description (e.g. NGK Spark plug).
  • Click twice on the item to which you want to add a Stock Group.
  • Click on the Groups/Analysis tab.
  • Enter a 3 character code in CAPITAL LETTERS for the group that you wish to attach to this part, e.g. 'PTS' for Parts.
  • Press <Shift+F10> to create the group.
  • Enter a description for the group in question, e.g. 'Parts'.
  • Click on the Parameters tab.
  • There are many entries on this screen but they are optional. If you wish to enter more than just the description then the most important is the sales centre.   • Press <Esc>.

Structure: When creating your stock groups, it is important to have a written procedure laid down for designing these groups that everyone follows so that there is consistency and structure.
