Summary
This article explains how to get started with Warehousing in Platinum.
More Information
With the Warehousing module installed, you can allocate stock items to customers, set charging rates for goods in, goods out and storage, and produce invoices for the charges incurred by your customers.
Stock Item Information
For the warehousing to work well, you will need to create batches for your stock. You can then locate your batches individually, rather than just having a single location for the stock item. On the [Invoicing] tab, set the "Batched?" flag to 'Yes'. A [Warehousing] tab appears when you are creating or editing stock items. This allows you to set the "Storage Unit", "Owner" of the item and the "Ideal quantity".
See How do I set up warehouse charging? for further instructions.
Customer Information
A [Warehousing] tab appears when you are creating or editing a customer. This allows you to set the "Charge In", "Charge Out" and any variance of charge for a particular type of "Storage Unit".
See How do I set up warehouse charging? for further instructions.
Goods In
Use " Stock Control Stock Movements" to bring goods in.
Goods Out
Use " Stock Control Stock Movements" to send goods out.
Charging
Charging is calculated using the various settings that you have entered and the results are imported automatically into " Stock Control Invoicing & Customer Orders".
From here, you can invoice the customers.
