Summary
The following article explains how to apply a Stock Group to a Stock Code and set up its parameters accordingly.
More Information
Go to " Stock Control Add or Edit Stock Items".
- This will take you to a search screen. Type either the stock code of the item required (e.g. 'NGK1234') or the description (e.g. NGK Spark plug).
- Click twice on the item to which you want to add a Stock Group.
- Click on the Groups/Analysis tab.
- Enter a 3 character code in CAPITAL LETTERS for the group that you wish to attach to this part, e.g. 'PTS' for Parts.
- Press <Shift+F10> to create the group.
- Enter a description for the group in question, e.g. 'Parts'.
- Click on the Parameters tab.
- There are many entries on this screen but they are optional. If you wish to enter more than just the description then the most important is the sales centre. This allows the part in question to have a particular sales centre automatically assigned when sold e.g. 100 for Parts Sales or 150 for Accessories Sales.
- Press <Esc>.
- Then press <Enter> to save the settings.
- Finally press <Esc> to return to Stock Properties.
Tip-Structure: When creating your stock groups, it is important to have a written procedure laid down for designing these groups that everyone follows so that there is consistency and structure. |
