Stock Take

Stock taking is a two phase process, firstly you need to count the stock and secondly you need to adjust any stock levels.

Process

Counting Your Stock

Select " Stock Control Stock Take Stock Take Report".

  • Set the ranges for your report e.g. to check a particular location enter the location name in the "Start Location" then press <Enter>. This automatically fills in the "End Location" field for you.
    • If you want the report to display the quantity the system thinks you have in stock then leave Print Quantity (at the bottom of the screen) set to 'Yes'. If you think you may have some cheaters amongst you (if it says 2513 nuts it is easier to agree with this than to actually count them...) then set this to 'No'!
  • Press <F2> to print the stock take report then go and count the stock.

When you have finished counting you will need to enter the stock levels.

Adjust Stock Levels

Select " Stock Control Stock Take Adjust Stock Levels".

  • Set the ranges on the screen to the same as when you printed the report so that the list you will see matches the list you have in your hand. Press <F2>. Enter the quantities for the stock lines (You can leave any entries blank to indicate that the stock was not counted).
  • When you have finished press <Shift+F2> to print a report showing which items have changed then press <F2> to accept the changes.
PLEASE NOTE:  Please bear in mind the system does not freeze stock levels while you carry out a stock check so you need to count the stock then get the new levels onto the system as soon as you can - if necessary just check small areas at a time so you can keep up.
