It is often the case that a driver is associated with a specific vehicle. If this is the case you may enter the code for the driver usually associated with this vehicle. Entering a driver code here will mean that when the vehicle is allocated to a job or load, the driver will automatically also be allocated assuming that no driver has previously been set.

Summary

The following article explains how to create or amend a code for a vehicle to allow you to allocate this to a Logistics Ticket.

More Information

Go to " Logistics Management Maintenance Options Add or Edit Vehicles".

  • Click [Add].
  • In the "Vehicle" field, enter a vehicle code, e.g. the Registration Number, and press <Enter>.
  • Enter the vehicle description and registration number in the "Description" field and press <Enter>.
  • Press <Esc> or click [Done] and click [Accept].

Additional Fields

The remaining fields can be completed where relevant but are not mandatory.

Current

Over a period of time vehicles are added and removed from the fleet. In order to hold historic information, it is often useful to keep vehicle records on file even after they are no longer used. Indicate here whether this vehicle is currently available for work.

Sales Centre

Enter an optional sales centre to associate with this vehicle. This allows the accounts department to analyse the revenue of this vehicle. If left blank, the default centre for the Logistics system will be applied.

Usual

If there is a specific driver for this vehicle, enter their code here.

  • Press <F1> or <Shift+F1> to scroll through existing drivers or <Ctrl+F1> to search for a driver.
  • To add a new driver, press <Ctrl+F1> and click [Add]. See How do I Create a New Driver?.

Entering a driver code here will mean that when the vehicle is allocated to a job or load, the driver will automatically also be allocated. This can be overwritten on the ticket.

Mobile

Enter the number of the mobile phone usually kept in this vehicle. The mobile number of a driver will take precedence over a number entered here.
