Summary

This article explains how to add analysis codes and apply them to an account code. This allows for more detailed reporting.

More Information

Go to " Sales Ledger Customer File Maintenance Add or Edit Customers" or " Purchase Ledger Supplier File Maintenance Add or Edit Suppliers".

  • This will take you to a search screen. Press <F6> or click the [Add] button if you want to create a new customer.
You can type in a part of a name or account code or description to find an existing code.
  • Click on the [Groups\Analysis] tab.
  • Click on one of the "Analysis" code boxes.
The box that you choose is significant. You can have the same character in more than one box meaning different things. For example, a code of 'A' in "Analysis Code 1" could signify Salesperson A. Having a code of 'A' in "Analysis Code 2" could signify Sales Area A.
  • Type a 1 Character code.
You can use a letter or a number here, but it must be just a single character.
  • Press <Shift+F10>. This will take you to the "Analysis Amendment".
  • Type a 'Description' for the 'Analysis Code'.
  • Press <Esc> and click [Accept].
  • You will now be able to use this code on the relevant customers and produce reports and other documents using this code.
