Summary
This article will explain how you can configure your print-outs to be centralised when printing to a PDF Printer or a borderless printer. As Platinum prints at position 0, which means on a printer that does not have a border it prints on the far left hand side.
More Information
To centralise printing for a PDF Print Record in Platinum you will need to create a new "Att.printer" version of 'W01'. In order to do this you will need to :
- Press <Alt+P> to bring up the " Print Record Override" screen.
- Press <Ctrl+F1> and on "Filter on:" type <PDF> and press <Enter> to select your PDF Print Record.
If you get a prompt saying "No matching items found." then you will need to follow the instruction here to create the print record. |
- Click on [Edit] to edit the Print record. This bring up the " Print Record Properties" screen.
- <Arrow key> down to the "Att. printer:", which should read 'W01'.
- Type in <W04> and press <Shift+F10>.
- Press <Enter>.
- Press <Shift+F5> to load printer details and click on [Yes].
- On "Desc.:" type in 'Windows' and press <Enter>.
- With 'W01 Windows Print Device' press <F2>, which will load in the standard Windows control codes.
- Replace 'Windows Print Device' with something like 'Windows PDF Printer'.
- Now <Arrow Key> down the list until you highlight '20 Line Start'.
- Press <F7> until the '0' becomes '<NUL>'.
- On the 1st '<NUL>' replace it for '<ESC>'.
- On the 2nd '<NUL>' replace it for '"{"'.
- On the 3rd '<NUL>' replace it for '"G"'.
- On the 4th '<NUL>' replace it for '" "'.
- On the 5th '<NUL>' replace it for '"8"'.
- On the 6th '<NUL>' replace it for '"}"'.
- Press <F7> until the '0' becomes '<NUL>'.
What this means is that the printed information will start 8mm in from the left margin. You might have to play with it if it goes into double figures you will need to change the 6th '<NUL>' to be the second digit which means you will have to set the 7th '<NUL>' to be '"}"'. |
Once you have done this press <Esc> and click [Accept] to save the changes you have made. This will show an "Update Status". Press <Esc> which will now take you back to the " Print Record Properties" screen and your newly created 'W04' will be in the " Att. printer:". Press <Esc> and click [Accept] to save the changes to the print record. Now your PDF print-outs will be centralised.'
