Summary
Sell either a stocked item or a free typed text item over the counter.
Additional information
To be able to sell items out from over the counter in the platinum software, go to "Stock Control" -> "Point of Sale".
Sale Information
- The System will automatically set the account to be the 'default cash sale' account. You will need to change this to the customer who the parts are being sold to.
- At "Customer:" type in the customers account code if known, or search for a customer.
- At "Discount:" Enter the sale discount percentage. This discount applies to the whole sale. A discount can be applied to an individual item in its "Item Properties" by pressing <F5>.
Sale Items
- On the "Stock Code:" enter in a stock code of a part you want to sell, or search for a stock item.
- On the "Quantity" enter the quantity of this item to be sold.
If Platinum detects that there are not enough items in stock then it will add the Backorder tag (an asterisk in the "Order" column) for this line. Upon proceeding to [Checkout], items with the Backorder tag will be placed on a Sales Order which you can retrieve once the items are in stock. If there are no pending Purchase Orders for the item then one will be created. |
- Click on [Add] to add the part onto the list of items being sold.
- Repeat for all items that are to be sold in this transaction.
