This article explains how to search for a Sales or Purchase Centre. In this article, the word "centre" and words "cost centre" are interchangeable.

More Information

Cost Centres are used in various places throughout Platinum. In the following example, searching for a Cost Centre is going to be performed in Purchase Ledger Postings. For help on how to post an Invoice in Purchase Ledger Postings, see Posting Purchase Invoices.

  • Post the Purchase Invoice as shown in Posting Purchase Invoices then, at the Cost Centre field, press <Ctrl+F1>.
  • At the Purchase Centre Search dialogue box, in the "Filter On" field, type a description of the centre you are looking for; e.g. if you are posting a Parts Invoice, search for "stock".
  • This will return a list of all matches with "stock" in the description.
  • Select the one that you want and click [Choose].
  • If a Cost Centre doesn't exist for the description you are looking for, then it can be created by following this link How do I Create a Sales or Purchase Centre?
